The anilox cylinder is the cornerstone in the flexographic printing process, especially if we work with ultraviolet inks, which do not have a volatile part such as water-based or solvent-based ones and their good cure depends on the UV light passing through the deposited ink film on the substrate. Your choice determines the final results in many aspects of what was believed: definition of the screen, opacity, intensity of color, repeatability of works, etc. Currently, quality and profitability depend much more on the correct anilox choice: the manufacturer and the type of specification at the time of its recording. ▼
With the latest generation laser equipment that we use in the engraving of our anilox cylinders that allow “drawing rather than engraving” in combination with our experience in supplying UV inks and varnishes we have been able to develop a series of Types of Engraving that offer the printer some improved and high-quality results.
WHITE OPAQUE FLEXO
Ibeslab EBO is a type of high volume engraving, developed for Fujifilm Sericol’s Supernova JD752 white, the best ink on the market to obtain high opacity in a single pass that can be an alternative to rotary screen printing. The exceptional etching of this anilox enables high-volume ink transfer, printing at high speed while simultaneously reproducing positive and negative text with high definition and cropping. This EBO specification has 5 levels of ink supply and therefore opacity, depending on the customer’s needs. This unique development has been incorporated by the majority of label printers in Spain and brings enormous cost savings without sacrificing quality.
COMBINED PRINTING OF PANTS AND SCREENS
Ibeslab EPT is the specification that integrates two apparently contradictory parameters: high definition linearity (from 200 l / cm to 400 l / cm) with relatively high volumes of 6 to 18 cm3 / m2. This recording ensures the supply of ink necessary to obtain the intensity of color compatible with the Pantone chart in backgrounds, on the one hand and on the other hand, transfers the ink with a precision that improves the quality in fine texts, screens and gradients. This reduces the need for roller changes, being able to reduce the inventory of anilox, and allows us to unify in the same cliché and machine body jobs that until now required two, such as reproducing a Pantone color background at the same time as a weft gradient with the same ink.
HIGH INTENSITY FLEXO QUATRICOMIES
Ibeslab TAD is laser engraving designed for high-definition quadricomies, starting at 60 lpcm (150 lpi). When we need to work with cylinders with lines greater than 400 lpcm, sometimes the intensity of the ink is poor, because the cells are very narrow and deep. The special cell geometry of this type of anilox allows it to provide between 15 and 20% more volume, thereby ensuring the density of color in CMYK.
ANTI SPITTING
Ibeslab AS is an accurate resource for solving spatter problems that occur on some UV printing machines. This phenomenon, peculiar to flexo printers that work with UV curing inks, is a frequent problem that appears randomly in some print shops and causes problems for the printer. We have a type of recording, applicable to any specification that we manufacture that solves the problem.
We can help you improve
When we manufacture an anilox, whether new or re-engraved, it is a customized process for our client in which we combine the four variables of the specification: Lineature, volume, angle and cell geometry, with the needs of the printer and our knowledge. At the time of specifying the data of the type of recording we like to open a dialogue to find the best solution for each job. With the same investment we can optimize the possibilities of your anilox cylinder and move up the steps in the process of continuous improvement of flexographic printing.
We are at your service.
